OUR Drone Spraying services

Welcome to our drone spraying page!

One of our most common questions is about drone spraying, what can we spray and can we spray any chemicals yet.

We can spray anything as long as there is a legal path to do so, currently regulated PPP products are not legal to be applied by air for general commercial applications, however there is a pathway for trials permits to gain data and hopefully lead to full on label authorisations.

In the meantime below is a bit more detail about what we can do….

Biostimulants & Natural Pest Control Products

We are able to spray all types of biostimulant products from seaweed based fertilisers to humic and other plant based acids, all of which stimulate the plants natural nutrient uptake, stress resilience and natural pest control substances. This in turn leads to stronger, more tolerant plants which need less synthetic fertilisers and improve soil health.

We are also able to spray liquid based natural pest control products like nematodes to naturally control invasive pests without chemical inputs.

Liquid Fertiliser

We are able to spray all types of liquid fertilisers both for soil fertilisation or foliar feeding, all without touching the ground, no compaction, no ruts or mud on the road and the ability to get fertilisers on to crops when they need it, not when it’s fit to travel a heavy machine on.

We can also utilise variable rate application maps in our drones, this allows for reduced input usage and cost savings, and all whilst reducing the environmental impact of conventional farming

Shading Agents & Cleaners

As well as field type products we are also able to apply shading agents to buildings, livestock housing, greenhouses and many more to reduce internal temperature in hot weather.

As with the shading agents, we can also apply natural cleaners which can remove the shading agents or even clean dirt and light soiling on buildings, greenhouses, polytunnels, livestock housing or solar panels.

Agricultural Drone Services

We offer drone based spreading and spraying of seeds, fertilisers, greenhouse shading agents and other non regulated granular or liquid products using our large agricultural drones across the UK.

Using drones for these tasks often increases application speed and productivity whilst eliminating the compaction that could be caused by ground based application methods.

This means applications can take place at the optimal time even if the ground is too soft for tractors or sprayers to travel.

More of what we can do can be seen on our Instagram page.

Why Use A Drone For Spreading Or Spraying?

Drones are able to spread cover crop seeds into existing standing crops allowing a quicker start and continued ground cover after harvest, it also allows extra time for any overwinter grazing that may have been lost whilst waiting for crops to grow which would’ve usually been established after harvest of the main crop.

Our drones all use RTK positioning correction signals and GPS guidance to ensure highly accurate swaths and reduce overlap losses or misses.

Below are some more reasons why agricultural drone spreading and spraying can be beneficial;

Still Need More Reasons...?

Our drones for spraying and spreading in agriculture offer several advantages, including increased efficiency, precision, and reduced environmental impact. Here’s how drone-based spraying and spreading can be beneficial:

  1. Precision Application: Drones equipped with spraying systems can precisely target specific areas that require treatment, such as areas with pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies. This minimizes wastage and reduces the amount of chemicals used, promoting sustainable farming practices.
  2. Reduced Human Exposure: Drone spraying eliminates the need for farmers to be in direct contact with potentially harmful chemicals, thereby reducing health risks associated with traditional manual spraying.
  3. Time and Labor Savings: Drones can cover large areas quickly, reducing the time and labor required for spraying and spreading tasks. This is especially beneficial for large farms or areas that are difficult to access by traditional machinery.
  4. Access to Challenging Terrain: Drones can navigate difficult terrain more easily than traditional machinery, allowing for the treatment of hard-to-reach or steep areas that might otherwise be missed.
  5. Data Integration: Drones can be equipped with sensors and cameras to collect data during spraying and spreading operations. This data can be integrated with other agricultural data to make informed decisions about future treatments and overall farm management.
  6. Real-time Monitoring: Some advanced drone systems allow for real-time monitoring and adjustments during spraying or spreading operations. This enables operators to adapt to changing conditions and ensure optimal coverage.
  7. Environmental Benefits: Targeted application of chemicals reduces the risk of over-application and chemical runoff, which can harm the environment and nearby water bodies.
  8. Cost Efficiency: While the initial investment in drone technology might be significant, the long-term cost savings can be substantial due to reduced chemical usage, labor costs, and potential increases in crop yields.
  9. Regulatory Compliance: Drones can help farmers comply with regulations and guidelines related to chemical application, as they can provide accurate records of the spraying process.
  10. Customization: Drones can be programmed to follow specific flight paths, adjusting their spraying patterns based on the characteristics of the land and crops. This customization enhances the effectiveness of treatments.

We offer drone based spreading of seeds and fertilisers and are able to offer a full service that includes mapping the area, generating a prescription map and applying the fertiliser as it is required on a variable rate basis.

We also offer spraying of all non regulated substances across all types of land or crop, once there are pesticides available to be sprayed using aerial technologies we will also offer this service.
